Evan Epstein
Introducing Evan Epstein’s debut gallery in New York City. Evan has been taking photographs since he was 7 years old. Largely self-taught, he prides himself on his unusual perspective on ordinary things.
Evan has been passionately capturing the world through his lens since the tender age of seven. As a largely self-taught artist, he brings a distinctive and unconventional perspective to everyday scenes, a vision that has garnered him multiple accolades, including three prestigious Gold Keys from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Notably, two of his Gold Key photographs were displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Scholastic Exhibition, showcasing his talent on one of the world's most renowned stages.
Evan's work has frequently graced the pages of NYC Patch, earning the title of “New York Picture of the Day” on numerous occasions. His striking images have also been featured as cover art for The Plumber’s Daughter sheet music and a new album on the esteemed Lexicon Classics label.
Beyond his photographic endeavors, Evan is deeply engaged in the fields of history and politics. He has served the NYC Small Business Services Commissioner and interned on Capitol Hill for NY Congressman Ritchie Torres, reflecting his commitment to public service. His scholarly excellence is further demonstrated by his thirdplace win in the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History's annual David McCullough Essay Prize for his insightful research on Lyndon Johnson’s “Daisy” campaign ad.
Evan draws inspiration from political figures like Senator Margaret Chase Smith, the pioneering first woman to serve in both the House and Senate, and strives to embody her principle: “The right way is not always the popular and easy way. Standing for right when it is unpopular is a true test of moral character.” A proud graduate of NYC’s Trinity School, Evan is set to begin his studies at Harvard University, where he will undoubtedly continue to blend his artistic prowess with his academic and civic passions.
