On an astrophotography trip in upstate New York with the intention of capturing a traditional shot of the stars in the beautiful night sky. While looking up, however, I was struck by the towering trees surrounding our site. It was amazing how my focus turned to these simple stalks of wood while surrounded by massive balls of fire millions of light-years away – the sheer power that is life.
